Tiramisu's Greatest Hits

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

I've started compiling some of the most creative and unique sweet creations I keep coming across the internet. I know there are lots of compilations everywhere, but I'd love to make my own; to share with you guys, and to keep on my blog for future reference.

After noticing a lot of unconventional Tiramisu desserts around, I decided to compile a list of some of my favorites. "Tiramisu" literally means "pick me up" in Italian; it's generally a coffee-flavored layered dessert consisting of creamy cheese, ladyfingers (and often a little alcohol), sprinkled with cocoa powder. However, a lot of people have used the base of cream and ladyfingers and made tons of riffs off the original! Here are some of the most clever and delicious looking ones I've found.

Banana Cream Tiramisu - Heather's Dish

Baileys and Hot Chocolate Tiramisu - A Bittersweet Wife

Tiramisu Dip - Cheesecake for All

Tiramisu Tart - The Galley Gourmet

Pomegranate Blood Orange Tiramisu - Today's Nest

Limoncello Tiramisu - Eva Toneva

Tropical Tiramisu - The Wandering Girl

Eight Texture Tiramisu - Almost Bourdain

Tiramisu Pancakes - The Ivory Hut

Apricot & Matcha Tiramisu - L'Atelier Vi

Let me know what you think! And hopefully these will inspire you to try your own riff on the classic Italian pick-me-up :)

Everyone of these looks wonderful but the one featuring Limoncello really got my attention. Wow! This is mt first visit to your blog, so I took sometime to browse through your earlier posts. I'm so glad I did that. You've created a great spot to visit and I really enjoyed the time I spent here. I'll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
